Enterprise software for an automotive manufacturer
UX Case Study
Fleet Management Software
During my UX design studies, I conceptualized and designed an enterprise software for a fictitious automotive manufacturer called "VisionDrive Motors". This software is primarily designed for the fleet management of new vehicles, which need to be tested after production in the factory, before being released for sale.

Problem statement
Disorganized Documentation:
Documentation of defects occurs in multiple systems. Defects are only passed back to development after weeks.
Inefficient Fleet Management:
The coordination and planning of vehicles and test drives are not centrally managed, and the capacity utilization is often not fully utilized.
Unclear Work Processes:
Unclear processes, as Excel spreadsheets or other systems like WhatsApp are still being used for bookings and communication.
Goals
Increase Test Drive Efficiency
Through improved planning, execution, and evaluation capabilities.
Quality Improvement of Vehicles
Through efficient recording of quality issues and faster transmission to development.
Cost Efficiency
Through better planning, execution, and evaluation, as well as optimization of vehicle and driver utilization.
Discovery
Understanding the User Context with Personas & User Stories.
Overall, four main user groups were identified, and a sitemap was created for each of them. However, within the scope of this project, the focus was on the test managers, for whom user stories were created within a user story map.
Define
Structure and content of the different interfaces were developed using wireframes and sitemaps.
To gain a sense of the various interfaces for each user group, sitemaps were designed for each group. However, due to the time constraints of this project, the interface for the test manager took center stage in the other phases.
Wireframes
To outline the basic structure of the web application, the Wireframes were developed first, helping to visualize and plan the user interface before more detailed design elements are added. They serve as a blueprint for the overall design and facilitate communication.
Design
Creating a designsytem based on material design
For a better usage a design system is created to ensure consistent design elements and guidelines for product development. It provides clear rules for visual and functional aspects and follows the common accessibility rules.
User Needs successfully implemented
The user needs are successfully implemented in the management system by incorporating tools for creating test drives and reviewing and verifying defects. This streamlined process enhances user experience by providing efficient means to schedule test drives, identify issues, and verify their resolution.
